Comprehensive Commercialization Strategy: Health Advances worked with a major private university to conduct a complete strategic review of all aspects of its technology commercialization activities,
including two venture groups, two incubators, and its technology licensing function. The Health Advances study led to a revised set of strategic objectives and a
plan for achieving a more efficient and effective organization.
Technology Out-Licensing: Health Advances worked with the technology licensing office of a major academic institution to use our experience in the
diabetes field to evaluate a novel approach for diabetes management. Our team then guided the licensing staff in developing and implementing a plan for licensing
the technology.
Licensee Equity Valuation: A major research university with a venture-backed licensee sought our assistance and advice in valuing a piece of
out-licensed technology as the basis for valuing the licensee. The organization held a significant equity position in the company and was at odds with other
investors with regard to the value of the company as it raised a subsequent round of capital.
Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Disease Research: The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Disease Research is a unique and relatively
new entity with the specific mission of advancing the development of cures for this disease. Health Advances has advised the organization on its broad strategy
for funding downstream development and collaborating more closely with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation: Health Advances has been working with this organization on a comprehensive strategy to transform its focus from
funding early-stage research to becoming the go-to organization for the vision, development tools, and technology leadership in advancing the commercial development
of leading edge research in diabetes.
